Greetings and welcome to the 12 O'Clock Rock web page,
a companion to the 12 O'Clock Rock radio program. Here you will find an
assortment of playlists--actually the transcribed cue sheets used to back-announce
during each radio program. Individually, these lists serve as a table of
contents for those listeners who tape the program for later listening.
Collectively they become sort of an encyclopedia of the music that the
record industry says does not exist.
12 O'Clock Rock is a program about underground rock, particularly self-released and small label vinyl. Most of the program consists of newly released seven-inchers (yes, 7" singles & EPs--we told you the Industry claims these things don't exist. We're here to prove differently). It airs on the 112,000 watt FM station KPFK, Los Angeles, which can be heard throughout Southern California, from Santa Barbara to Santa Monica, to San Bernardino, to San Diego, on 90.7 FM every Saturday night. 12 O'Clock Rock began airing on December 7, 1980 and celebrated its seventeenth anniversary on December 7, 1997. At 50 tracks a week, that's a lot of unheard music, yet it's still only a fraction of the music out there. Andrea 'Enthal/producer of 12 O'Clock Rock, PO Box 4904, Panorama City CA 91412 |
